Blade has three meanings when it comes to golf clubs. It is:

  1. A design of a putter with a narrow club head from the face to the back,
  2. A design of an iron head with the solid, relatively smooth backof the clubhead and equal weight distribution throughout the head. Designed for experienced golfers as they are very unforgiving, but provide increased feel and feedback. Blade heads are sometimes called muscle back heads but they are usually thinner that classic muscle back ones,
  3. A casual name of a clubhead face,
  4. An alternate name for thin shot.

putter, mallet, blade

Blade, muscle back, cavity back
