Irish Four Ball:
Irish Four Ball (sometimes written as “Irish Fourball” or “Irish 4 Ball”) is a format of golf competition between teams of four players (partners). All four players play a round of stroke play with their own balls. A pre-set number (one, two or three) of partners’ best Stableford scores per hole are combined for the team score.
For example if the three lowest scores are counted on the hole and:
- partner A scores 3 Stableford points
- partner B scores 2 Stableford points
- partner C scores 1 Stableford point
- partner D scores 2 Stableford points
the team score on that hole is 7 (3+2+2).
The team with the highest total number of Stableford points (gross or net) wins.
