Expected Score

« Back to Glossary Index

Expected score:

Expected score is the score a player is expected/predicted to achieve on a course of standard difficulty (SR=113). This numerical value is personal for each player and calculation is based on a player’s Handicap Index.
The value of expected score is used to calculate the 18-hole Score Differential for handicap purposes, if a player doesn’t play one or more holes (e.g. after 9-hole round). In such cases, the score from holes played is combined with the expected score from holes not played.
