Roll:
Roll in golf has two meanings. It is:
- the distance a ball travels (rolls or bounces) from the point of hitting the ground first time to its final resting spot; total shot length is the sum of carry and roll,
or - the curvature of the face of a driver or fairway wood from sole to crown; it helps impart spin to the ball that helps it go straighter.
Other name of the distance a ball travels once it lands: Run.
