Hybrid (hybrid club):

Hybrid is a club that combines features of both wood and iron clubs. They are typically the same length as the long irons they are meant to replace but the head design uses features from woods including wide soles and lower centers of gravity.

Hybrids are used instead of the long irons, they are much easier to play and give a player added control on long shots. The hybrid irons have flat face (like irons). The hybrid woods has face with horizontal bulge and vertical roll (a curved face, like woods). Other names: Rescue, Utility Club, Hybrid Iron, Hybrid Wood.
