Parallel tip:
Parallel tip means that the thinner end of the shaft has a constant diameter for the last few (at least 6) inches of the shaft. This tip allows for tip trimming and the use of identical shafts for a complete set of irons or woods.
The type (parallel tip or taper tip) and the tip diameter are always listed in the shaft specification.
The most common tip diameters for irons and wedges are .355 and .370 (expressed in inches). For woods, common diameters are .335, .350, and .355.
