Worst Ball

« Back to Glossary Index

Worst ball:

Worst ball is the reversed variation of the regular Scramble. It is a format of golf competition of teams, comprised of two, three or four players (partners). Each player on the team plays his (or her) own ball throughout the round. All partners hit tee shots, the opponents select the worst ball lie, and the players whose balls were not selected pick up their balls and move them to that location. All partners then play their second stroke from that spot and repeat procedure until any ball is holed in. This format can be played as Match Play or Stroke Play.

Other names: Reverse Scramble, Opposite Scramble, Bizarro Scramble, Bloodsome Scramble (not Bloodsomes).
