Texas Wedge

« Back to Glossary Index

Texas Wedge:

Texas Wedge is an informal term for a shot made with a putter from outside the green. This stroke is most often used when the turf around the green is hard and dry.

In such conditions, it is difficult to make a clean contact between the head face and the ball. The flat face of the putter makes it easier to hit the ball effectively, and the result can be better than when using wedge or iron.
