Shotgun (shotgun start):
Shotgun start is a way of starting a tournament in which all players teeing off at the same time, but at different holes across the course. The advantage of this format is that all the competitors finish and return to the clubhouse at roughly the same time.
For example, if a players begin at hole 11, they then move to hole 12-18 and then continue to hole 1 and play through hole 10.
The shotgun start is an alternative to starting the tournament from the 1st hole according to individual tee times assigned to each group of players.
