Plus Handicap

Plus Handicap:

Golfer with plus Handicap Index (plus golfer, plus handicapper) is a player whose handicap is better than scratch (better than zero). Arithmetically such Handicap Index is lower than zero, but according to the Rules of Handicapping it is indicated with a plus (+) in front of the numeral.

A plus golfers have to add or ‘plus’ strokes to their gross score. This is in contrast to the regular (“negative”) handicappers, who usually play above par and substract handicap strokes from the gross score.
