Par/Bogey:

Par/Bogey is a scoring system of Stroke Play in which the sides (players or teams) award points on each hole. The points are awarded by comparing the score (number of strokes) with a threshold value specified in the Terms of the Competition. This specified value may be:

  • par for the hole (net or gross) – par competition,
  • bogey for the hole (net or gross) – bogey competition or
  • any other value or values specified in Terms of the Competition.

Players award points at each hole as follows:

  • 1 point for a score lower than the threshold value,
  • 0 for a score equal to the threshold value and
  • -1 point for a score higher than the the threshold value.

The side with the highest total number of points wins.

Other name: V-Par.
