Irish Match Play:
Irish Match Play is the variation of the regular Match Play for three and four-player group. Each player plays their own golf ball. Every hole is a separate contest against each other. The points are awarded based on the score (gross or net) get by a player in relation to the score of other players in the same group.
In net competitions, Playing Handicaps are calculated individually for each group in accordance with the Rules of Handicapping. The player with the lowest Handicap in each group plays with a Playing Handicap of zero.
Points are awarded only for the lowest score on individual holes as follows:
- 2 points are awarded to the player who is the only one to get the lowest score in the group, or
- 1 point is awarded to each of the two players who have the same lowest score in the group
- no one receives points if more than 2 players have the lowest score in the group
The player who has collected the highest total number of points (gross or net) on all holes wins.
