Green in Regulation (GIR):
Green in Regulation (GIR) is to hit the ball onto the green within a specified number of shots. The number of strokes depends on the par of the hole. For a par 3 holes it is 1 stroke, for a par 4 holes it is 2 and for a par 5 holes sit is 3 strokes.
It is used mainly as a statistical data to show the accuracy of a golfer’s approach shots.
