Caddie:

Caddie (caddy) is the person who assists a golfer on the course. Typical duties for a caddie include:

  • carrying a bag with golf clubs and player’s stuff,
  • cleaning golf clubs and the ball in play,
  • offering the player advice (e.g. choosing the right golf club and/or line of play, yardage calculations),
  • observing the ball’s flight and finding lost balls,
  • performing any course maintenance that is the player’s responsibility (repairing divots, raking bunkers etc.),
  • taking the flag out and putting it back into the cup,
  • moral support.
