Backswing:

Backswing is the sequence of movements of a player in the first phase of the golf swing. During this phase of the swing, the golfer pulls the club up away from the target until it reaches the top of the swing. This part of the golf swing, begins at address and ends with the club at the top of the swing.

The very first part of the backswing is called the takeaway.
