Handicap Adjustment

The EGA Handicap adjustment rules are described in EGA Handicap System. The calculation is based on the qualifying score (score in the qualifying round):
– Competition score (after the buffer zone has been adjusted in accordance with the CBA procedure) and
Extra Day Score – EDS (CBA equal to zero)

  • If a player returns a qualifying score with Stableford points (STB) within his relevant buffer zone his EGA Handicap remains unchanged
  • If a player returns a qualifying score below his buffer zone his EGA Handicap is increased
  • If a player returns a qualifying score above his buffer zone, his EGA Handicap is reduced

EGA Handicap after qualifying round is adjusted as described in the table below:

Handicap adjustment and buffer zone

New (adjusted) EGA Handicap is computed below, basing on:
– the current EGA Handicap and
– 18-hole qualifying Stableford score or
– 9-hole qualifying Stableford score – please remember, that in case of 9-hole round for handicap purposes, 18 Stableford points should be added to the points collected during the round.
