Niblick:

Niblick is an old-fashioned name for a high-lofted iron that is equivalent to the modern short iron:

• Pitching Niblick is equivalent to the modern iron #8
• Niblick – modern iron #9

Niblicks usually had small rounded heads and they were designed to get the ball out of ruts and tight places, much like modern wedges.
